🌦️ Course Conditions

August and September have been exceptionally dry, with just 37mm of rainfall in August and 35mm in September - around half of the average rainfall for this period.

While the recent dry weather has helped us maintain good playing conditions, the lack of rainfall has slowed the recovery of grass coverage on the fairways following the stresses of the Summer. We will need some consistent rainfall to help the course fully recover as we move into Autumn.

⛳ Greens Update

The greens continue to receive regular applications of fungicide and herbicide to help manage disease and weeds respectively.

This week we have Sarel rolled and top dressed greens 1–3, with the remaining greens to follow over the next week. We have applied a lighter dressing this time to help the surfaces recover quickly, with a further top dressing planned in approximately 6–8 weeks. A liquid feed and wetting agent has also been applied following the top dressing. 

🏌️ 8th Tee Improvements

The remodelling of the 8th tee is now complete and the new grass seed has established well.

The area will remain Ground Under Repair (GUR) until Spring to allow the new turf to establish fully. We look forward to bringing the improved tee area into play next year.

🍂 Autumn & Winter Golf

As we move into Autumn and ground conditions begin to change, a reminder that preferred lies remain in place and will continue throughout the Winter.

We would also ask that, wherever possible:

• Golfers who are able to carry use carry bags rather than trolleys.

• Trolley users keep well away from greens and approaches to help protect these high-traffic areas.

These small measures make a significant difference to protecting the course and helping us maintain good playing surfaces through the Winter.
