Recent warm, damp conditions have allowed some disease to take a hold on the greens with those that have shading and limited airflow (4, 5 & putting green) suffering more. To help combat the issues we will adopt the following strategies:

1. Incorporate disease-resistant bent grass into the surfaces;

2. Removed trees and hedging to increase airflow.

Last winter part of the brook on the 9th was blocked which caused water to back up and groundwater issues. This has been resolved by removing the branches causing the dam effect but further work is required along the stretch of the waterway.

Due to mechanical issues we have delayed our greens maintenance until (weather permitting) the week beginning Monday 16th Sept. This will involve verticutting, top dressing and over-seeding greens.

Next week the hedge cutting contractor is due to maintain hedges along the 9th track, entrance, driveway, car park and driving range. Please be mindful if near the area of operation and keep your distance.
