🌿 Course Notes

šŸ—“Ā 10th November 2025

āœĀ From Tom, Course Manager

šŸŒ¦ļøĀ Course Conditions

The past month has been largely dry and mild for the time of year. However, this week brings a more unsettled outlook with periods of heavy rain.

In October, we recorded 86mm of rainfall, well below the monthly average of 142mm, which is typically our wettest month.

šŸ‚Ā Winter Golf – Player Expectations

As ground conditions soften, please help us protect the course by following our Winter Golf guidelines:

  • Carry bags whenever possible.Ā Trolleys should be used only by those unable to carry. If conditions worsen, a trolley ban may be introduced (exemptions for ages 75+ and those with approved medical certificates).

  • Trolley users should carry divot sand.

  • Avoid approaches and high-traffic turf areas.Ā With robotic mowing, roping large areas is more complex, but certain zones will be marked as no-go areasĀ in the coming weeks. Please respect these and do not move ropes or stakes.

  • Repair pitchmarks.Ā If every golfer repairs two per green, we will quickly see significant improvement.

  • Ride-on buggies (hire or private)Ā are currently not permittedĀ due to safety and turf protection. We will review this regularly.

We will monitor the back tee areas in the coming days but we anticipate moving to Winter tee mats soon.

⛳ Greens Update

We continue over-seeding and sanding disease-scarred areas on the greens and topdressing selected surrounds to build a denser sward.

All greens and surrounds have recently been solid tinedĀ and received a liquid fertiliser application.

We are also trialling ā€˜Vermitea’, a natural, locally produced product made from composted worm castings brewed into a liquid. We expect it will help strengthen the turf and improve natural resistance to pests and disease.

šŸ“Ā Next Update: Early December
