šæĀ Course Notes
šĀ 12th December 2025
āĀ Ā From Tom, Course Manager
š¦ļøĀ Course Conditions
The past few weeks have brought the wet and unsettled weather typical for this time of year. In November we recorded 145mm of rainfallĀ and the rain has continued into December. As ground conditions soften further, please take extra care when navigating the course and avoid wet or muddy areas wherever possible.
ā³Ā Greens Update
Greens are now being cut 2ā3 times per week, as and when ground conditions allow. On non-mowing days we continue to swishĀ surfaces to remove moisture and debris. Frosty mornings require us to delay mowing until later in the day.
We are continuing our programme of overseeding and sandingĀ disease-scarred areas on the greens, and topdressing key surroundsĀ to help build a denser, more resilient sward. More extensive overseeding will take place in Spring once soil temperatures rise and seed germination improves.
Clearing of the scrub to the right of the 5th greenĀ is largely complete, with only removal of the cut material remaining. We also intend to remove several self-seeded Willows that have grown into sizeable trees. Similar hedge and scrub reduction will take place around the 4th and 7th greensĀ to improve light and airflow - both of which are essential for healthier turf and reduced disease pressure.
šĀ Winter Golf ā Player Expectations
As Winter progresses, your cooperation is vital in helping protect the course:
Trolleys:Ā Those using trolleys should carry divot sand.
Traffic Management:Ā Please avoid approaches, walk-off areas and other high-traffic turf. With robotic mowing it is more challenging to rope large areas, but we will clearly mark specific no-go zonesāthese must not be moved or stepped through.
Pitchmarks:Ā Repair at least two pitchmarks per green. This small effort makes a significant difference.
Sticks & Branches:Ā If you spot fallen debris on fairways, please move it aside where safe to do so. This simple action helps preserve the robotic mowersā blades.
š§ŗĀ Range Baskets
We continue to experience fluctuations in available range baskets, leading to occasional shortages. A reminder that range baskets and range balls must remain on the rangeĀ at all times.
