šæĀ COURSE NOTES
šĀ 13th February 2026
āĀ From Tom, Course Manager
š§ļøĀ Course Conditions
Since the start of the year we have experienced one of the wettest periods in recent times. January recorded 174mm of rainfall, well above the monthly average of 141mm, and the first half of February has offered little respite.
As a result, the course has unfortunately been closed on several occasions. This is never a decision we take lightly; however, conditions have not been unplayable and we must protect the surfaces ahead of the Spring season.
ā³Ā Greens Update
The persistent wet weather has significantly limited maintenance activity, with very restricted use of machinery and mowers.
Some members have understandably raised concerns regarding the greens affected by disease last year. We will publish our 2026 Course ReportĀ later this month, outlining our detailed Spring maintenance and recovery programme.
Encouragingly, the disease scars are already beginning to recover naturally. As conditions improve, we will support this with targeted aeration, over-seeding, top dressing and nutritional inputsĀ to promote strong, healthy growth.
š³Ā Tree Work
Ground conditions have prevented us from using the woodchipper to clear the tree and scrub work carried out on the 5th hole. This will be completed as soon as access allows, along with any other outstanding cuttings.
On a positive note, we have recently planted 75 saplingsĀ in selected areas to enhance the course over time. While further tree removal is planned, we remain committed to planting significantly more trees than we remove to maintain and improve biodiversity.
š³ļøĀ Driveway & Car Park
We are aware that the driveway and car park surfaces are deteriorating. Repairs are planned once conditions allow safe and effective work to take place.
In the meantime, thank you for your patience and please adhere to the 5mph speed limitĀ to minimise further damage.
šĀ Next Update: March [+ keep watch of your 2026 Course Report!]
