Further heavy rainfall has started to make ground conditions difficult to negotiate for both greenkeepers and golfers. For a number of years we have used 'white flags' to direct golfers away from certain areas but we are not able to use these with the robotic mowers. So, another request, can ALL golfers avoid the approaches to greens and adopt a wide berth.
We now expect golfers to be using carry bags. Those who physically can't, please keep your trolley at least 10 yards from the green. Furthermore, those trolley users should be taking divot buckets with them from the thatched shed.
Currently no buggies are permitted but we will revise regularly and update if conditions improve.
Due to damaged timber the first bridge is roped off and not in use. We will hope to repair the bridge and address the sinkage as soon as possible, though this might be difficult while there is significant water in the ditch.
With regards to Winter mats, we do not set a date for switching and we intend to use grass teeing areas as much as we can. In preparation, we will put the mats out soon and golfers are welcome to use them if they wish for casual rounds.
