We have completed our Autumn greens & surrounds maintenance over the last 2 days. This included verticutting, cutting and top dressing with pure sand. We have also topdressed the approaches.

After the work the sand has been brushed into the greens, though typically it will take a few days and we are watering to help this process along. In due course we will also apply sand to some teeing areas.
As a polite reminder, to help course conditioning, can members please:
- repair pitchmarks;
- utilise the divot buckets provided in the thatched shelter;
- use divot boxes on the par 3's where provided.
Hole 5 Penalty Area - UPDATE
We will be putting 'red penalty area' stakes around the ditch to the right of the 5th green. This will then allow a golfer whose ball enters the ditch to take relief by dropping into a relief area using:
1. the spot at which your last stroke was made under stroke and distance (see Rule 17.1d(1)).
2. the back-on-the-line relief procedure (see Rule 17.1d(2)).
3. lateral relief, where your ball last crossed the edge of red penalty area, from that reference point, you are allowed to drop outside the penalty area and anywhere within two club-lengths of that spot, no nearer to the hole (see Rule 17.1d(3)).
Please note that the range will not be closed as per usual for mowing on Thursday before 09:00 due to the Over 70s competition.
