The recent dry weather has provided excellent conditions for both maintenance and golfing, allowing us to complete several key tasks on the course.

We have been making regular use of the robotic mowers to maintain fairways and approaches. Their efficiency has allowed us to extend their use to more tees and surrounds as well. Golfers will also be pleased to see that we have now returned to the turf tees as of yesterday, which will be a welcome change.

While overall growth rates have remained slow, the greens are running quicker and have firmed up. This week, we have carried out slit tining to improve aeration and will be applying fertiliser at the end of the week to encourage growth and enhance the greens’ appearance. Despite firmer greens, we remind all golfers to take a moment to repair any pitchmarks.

We have also started clearing hedging and overgrowth around the 5th tee area. This work will improve airflow and light exposure to both the tee and the 4th green, helping to promote healthier turf conditions.

Finally, we will soon be advertising a Divot Day, as several members have expressed interest in helping out. This is a great way to support the course and contribute to its overall condition—details to follow soon.
