Thanks to the absence of frozen ground, we were able to move all hole locations on the greens last week. This week, we will apply the first liquid feed of the year. With rain in the forecast, this feed will be absorbed into the soil efficiently to support healthy growth.

Last week, we mowed all raised tees and surrounds. Greens continue to be mown twice weekly, with dew and wormcast brushing carried out on non-mowing days to maintain their condition.

As we anticipate a slight rise in temperatures, we have started seeding and sanding tee areas. The dwarf ryegrass seed we’ve used begins germinating at just 4°C, meaning it will start taking root soon and aid recovery of these areas in time for spring.

The team has also planted 75 new trees made up of a mix of native birch and pine. Most of these have been planted to the left of the 2nd hole, with a few added along the left side of the 9th hole as well. These trees will enhance habitat and biodiversity while also providing some natural screening.

Please note that trolley restrictions will continue to change in line with ground conditions. We also remind all golfers to avoid walking in direct lines to tees and greens wherever possible. Spreading foot traffic helps reduce wear and tear on the turf, ensuring better conditions for everyone.
